Minneapolis, MN – Legacy Seed Companies, LLC (“LSC” or the “Company”) has been acquired by Tillridge Global Agribusiness Partners L.P. (“Tillridge”).

LSC was represented on the transaction by Hennepin Partners as investment banker and Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP as legal counsel. The Company is based in Scandinavia, WI.

Legacy Seed Companies – comprised of Legacy Seeds, LLC and DF Seeds, LLC – provides market-leading seed products driven by deep-rooted experience and frontline research capabilities. LSC was founded as a repository for small, regional seed companies seeking integration, operational support, and succession planning. Tillridge recognized LSC’s strong market position within an attractive, growing market segment driven by consumer tailwinds and the push towards non-GMO products across the value chain.

“Hennepin Partners played a key role in helping guide us to closing this transaction with Tillridge. They took the time to understand our business, our people and the future opportunities we have for growth, all of which contributed to the Tillridge acquisition,” said Colin Steen, Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Seed Companies. “This sale to Tillridge allows Legacy Seed Companies and our employees to continue to grow under our Legacy Seeds brand in Wisconsin and DF Seeds brand in Michigan; as well as gives us the opportunity to work with a leader like Tillridge as we look to expand our food and feed strategy further.”

“We are looking forward to working alongside the Legacy Seed Companies team to help build on their strategy for growth. We believe in the company, the people and the platform from which they can grow this business in the years ahead,” added Zach Mager, Partner at Tillridge Global Agribusiness Partners.
